Numbers for 2024 are likely to be similar, given what we already know as we approach the end of the year.

The airline still has the Airbus A319 (Similar capacity to the A220-300) probably because some of the A220 are grounded due to the engine issue and I believe once that is sorted out, the A319 will be retired. No prize for guessing which airline dominates this airport. Volare is the airline's frequent flyer program.

At this time of blogging) Air India and Vistara will be merged into one airline, with Air India branding continue to exist. Vistara's flight code, UK will no longer exist and so will the airline's website which would direct passengers to Air India's website for booking and redemption. Fortunately, my flight was not affected.

Taipei to Hong route has a lot of flights and the airline deploys both 787 series but there are 2 issues, the flight time is too short and also aircraft change happens very frequently so with this route ended up being ruled out, my next option was a flight from Tokyo to Taipei. I suppose the airline rotate these aircraft every few months.

A violent and destructive engine failure on the aircraft, one of United Airlines ’ McDonnell Douglas DC-10s, caused the loss of all standard flight controls through the fracture of all three hydraulic syst ems on the aircraft. On scanning the engine instruments, it quickly became apparent that the number two tail-mounted engine had failed.

Owing to noise sensitive areas all around College Park Airport, the fact that my approach was almost lined-up with the wind-favored runway (runway 15) and given the lack of traffic in the pattern, I chose to go straight in and flew final approach over the University of Maryland, College Park campus. So to prevent gear-up landings, a runway duty officer (RDO) sat by the runway with a flare gun and would fire it ahead of any hapless pilot lined up on final approach with the wheels up.

Using HD cameras, controllers can zoom in on any given point within the cameras range, say an aircraft on final approach. Another Remote Tower benefit is that each aircraft within visual range can be tagged with that aircrafts tail number, just as it might if the controller were looking at a radar screen. Cost, for one.
