According to CAA documents, the aircraft was modified with a 300hp engine and a Hamilton-Standard propeller, underwent weight-and-balance checks and an annual inspection. Some parts were re-fabricated at Faribault, such as the firewall. The new firewall that was added to the Stinson was a stainless steel piece.
