Recorded track data revealed that the pilot began a descent to the destination airport and crossed over the approach end of the runway on a heading perpendicular to the runway heading. The airplane impacted terrain about 1,200 feet short of the runway approach end and about 40 feet north of runway centerline.

Come in at 65 KIAS with a small amount of power during a normal 3-degree glide slope approach and the runway will find you. We didnt take the F2 to its optimum altitude, but its not hard to believe itll hit the LSA-mandated maximum of 120 kcas (knots calibrated airspeed). During our airwork, we were burning 3.5
