Anyway, on our approach to Athens, we were greeted with a spectacular view of the landscape but there was quite a bit of crosswind which made the ride slightly uncomfortable but not long after we landed smoothly on runway 21L.

At least when we started our descent, the weather was much better, descending and landing in smooth condition. At this point, we started our descent. However, we encountered some gloomy clouds during our descent. At this point, we were on final approach as landing gears were deployed and flaps were set.

After 11 hours of flight during our descent to initiate an approach, the airport closed for Category I (CAT I) approaches due to weather. During descent, we monitored the number 2 engine, and when we were at a comfortable distance from the airport we performed a precautionary shutdown and secured the engine.
