Everyone onboard a recent Ryanair flight was forced to evacuate when the cabin crew noticed fire emanating from one of the aircraft’s two engines as it began its take-off roll at an airport in Italy. All passengers and crew made it off the aircraft safely with no apparent injuries, having exited using the emergency slides.

However after pushing back while on the way to the runway, I managed to see some deicing action on an Easyjet A321 aircraft. At this point, we reached the threshold of the runway.

My question is isn't the boarding pass enough to verify my seat assignment and any other information the staff or cabin crew needs. The Captain made his announcement and gave us update on the weather on route and for the announcments by the cabin crew, it was done in 5 languages including the Taiwanese dialect. One of the cabin crew was waiting to assist any passengers that requires assistance. This is the second cabin of the economy class.

This time, both of the engines were started after pushed back so no PTU (Power Transfer Unit) - 'barking' noise was heard during our taxi to the runway. It took a while before the seatbelt sign was turned off and the crew started preparing for in-flight service. The 2 hours flight in this cabin was certainly comfortable.

Once on board, I noticed a cabin crew was serving champagne on a plastic cup and was pleasantly surprised I was given one, I suppose because of the occasion (New Year's Day).
