Near the crosswind to downwind turn, the engine sounded loud, and the airplane descended into a wooded field and a post-impact fire ensued. The airplane then descended back to the runway and bounced before lifting off nose-high again toward the end of the runway. Icing can often be concentrated near the tops of the clouds.

You might ask what happens with crosswind landings when you take away rudder authority. Flight Design rates the F2 with the same 16-knot demonstrated crosswind component as the previous CTs. Our flight was absent any crosswind, so its hard to know how the rudder/nosewheel gearing would work under those conditions.
