There is no set minimum for flight hours, no knowledge test, and no separate medical requirement beyond what you already have for your current pilot certificate. Most pilots learn to fly a go-around early in training, usually in calm conditions with a CFI ready to coach them through the steps: cram it (power up), climb it (pitch up), clean it (flaps, gear), call it (communicate). You’ll also need to complete a checkride, or practical test, to demonstrate your capabilities in the cockpit.

It’s not just GA pilots who can struggle with airspeed control. In business jets and airliners, the issue is usually being too fast, leading to a runway excursion and often substantial damage or even fatalities. Too much speed is almost as bad as too little. A bit harsh, perhaps, but 100% correct, and a lesson I have not forgotten.
