ANA expands fuel-saving AeroSHARK riblet tech to B777 passenger aircraft

ANA announced on April 28, 2025, that it will be using the fuel-saving AeroSHARK riblet technology on its fleet of Boeing 777-300ER passenger aircraft. Known to reduce fuel and CO2 emissions, AeroSHARK is a riblet film that was developed by Lufthansa Technik and German-based chemical producer Badische Anilin- und Sodafabrik (BASF). Since September 2024, the Japanese carrier has been operating a Boeing 777 cargo freighter equipped with the film.
