Singapore Airlines posts record profits for FY2024/25 despite market uncertainty

On May 15, 2025, Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) posted its highest-ever annual profit figures in the companys 53 years under its current name. The Singapore-Changi Airport (SIN) based carrier airline group recorded a net profit of US$2.78 billion, representing an increase of3.9% higher over the previous year. This is despite the airline recording an increase in overall competition on key routes and decreasing yields as a result.

Evia Aero inks deal for Stralis hydrogen-electric regional aircraft

German startup Evia Aero is moving ahead with its plans to launch a sustainable regional airline in Europe using zero-emissions aircraft. Evia Aera has closed a deal to acquire six Beech 1900D-HE aircraft, retrofitted to use a hydrogen-electric propulsion system developed by Australian firm Stralis Aircraft. These aircraft will be able to carry up to 15 passengers for distances of up to 432 nautical miles (800 km) and at speeds of some 270 knots (500 km/h).
