Most RNP approaches (RNP APCH) start with RNP 1 accuracy and get even tighter as you get closer to the runwaydown to RNP 0.3 on the final approach. Some approaches require even stricter accuracy. These are called RNP Authorization Required Approaches (RNP AR APCH). Verify correct airspeed and a stable approach.

We also got to look more at the cockpit controls and an explanation of some of the features of the flight deck which featured a modern EFIS Primary flight display and an excellent navigation display with GPS terrain mapping, very useful for when fighting fires flying at low levels in mountainous terrain.

An autopilot and Aspen primary flight display reduce workload on long flights. Phoenix Approach Control gave us a few delay vectors before turning us onto final approach. For this trip, the middle row seats were removed to make the cabin a 1st class four-seater.
