Although he was flying at or near the proper airspeeds for an overhead pattern, he was constantly moving the throttlesfrom near idle to near full thrust within seconds. Add half the gust factor to final approach and touchdown speeds. Rolling wings-level on final, the jet slowed to our approach speed of 160.

It was also destroying the propellers air foils causing a loss of thrust. At about one mile from the final approach fix, I put the Cessna into a high-speed dive towards the minimum descent altitude of 400 feet AGL. We were about 1/2 mile from the threshold. Ice was forming on the prop causing an imbalance.

At this point, we reached the threshold of the runway. We were on final approach into runway 06L. Spoilers were armed while the reverse thrust was deployed to slow the aircraft. Look at how lovely the weather was that morning. Passing by Air France's corperate office. Air France Concorde on display. Touched down!

We waited for a while near the threshold to allow a few aircraft ahead of us to take off. Whenever you hear the loud thud during the descent (around 3,000 feet or so) especially if you are sitting in the middle or front of the aircraft, that is the sound of the landing gear coming out and locked which means the aircraft is on final approach.

During the landing, following an excessive pitch-up movement by the aircraft, its aft fuselage contacted the runway approximately 326 meters (1,070ft) beyond the runway threshold.

Turning left, heading towards the threshold. At this point, we were on final approach. Reverse thrust was deployed. Window view photos (Take Off to Landing) The fuel truck had finishing refueling our aircraft. Pushing back in progress. Passing by a couple of ANA aircraft. We started accelerating.
