Trial by Ice

Air Facts

The general prognosis indicated no icing in the clouds, no turbulence and a quartering headwind from the west resulting in a mere five knots of headwind component. All in all, the weather looked perfect for my very first cross country where I would be in actual instrument conditions for the entire flight, including the approach.

The Flying Bear Goes to Beantown | Part 4, Going Missed

Photographic Logbook

At one point, we entered a region of sufficient turbulence that I disengaged the autopilot to hand-fly. Since we lost our LPV approaches due to obstructions along the final approach course, the downgraded LNAV minimum descent altitude for the approach to runway 28 was 558 feet above the ground.

Take off was slightly turbulent but eventually the weather improved after flying out of Japan. What is missing is a proper drink holder that can hold the drink firmly especially during turbulence.
