A witness reported that they saw the airplane lift off from the runway and remain in ground effect until it crossed the departure end of the runway. The postaccident examination revealed a fuel leak in a fitting where the fuel line passes through the firewall to the engine. He had no further memory of the event.

Pretty much the only metal parts are the landing gear legs, stainless firewalls, engine mounts, engines and hardware. Resist pulling back, instead letting it accelerate in ground effect (or should we say water effect) for a few seconds. Everything that can be composite is, all the way down to the engine baffling.
