Published time to climb to 20,000 feet is 18 minutes, and cruise speeds are advertised to be 205 knots at 15,000 feet. Most A36 owners we talk with plan on 165 knots and 1,000 fpm climbs when lightly loaded. The B36TC, with its 200-pound gross weight increase, can carry roughly 900 pounds in the cabin with the tanks full.

The Texas winds were gusting anywhere from 15-25 knots, and like other aerobatic airplanes, the canopy can be easily blown off. As soon as the tail was up, I added full power and accelerated to 80 knots and rotated with the tiniest bit of back pressure. Before I knew it we had already hit 120 knots. Max Gross Weight: 2,200 lbs.

In order to be flown by a sport pilot, the resulting airplane must still meet the current regulations—1,320 pounds maximum gross weight, 120 knots max cruise speed, for example—but how it gets there is up to the builder. With a 41-knot stall speed, the common 1.3 Vso approach speed is 53 knots. gallons per hour.

Noting that the application of fertilizer and other chemicals often corroded a conventional tail, Pellarini simply attached two tail booms that each carried its own horizontal stabilizer and elevator. This whole assemblage of shapes, surfaces, and protuberances cruises at a little less than 100 knots.

Before anything else, these are single-engine, unpressurized two-seat lightweights with a max gross weight of 1320 pounds. Check that against the max gross of a Piper Malibu at roughly 4300 pounds, or a Beech A36 Bonanza at around 3650 pounds or a Cessna 150 at 1600 pounds gross. GPH on 92 knots. Same for gliders.

Indications show that its speed dropped from around 160 knots to 110 knots. About 15 seconds later, the airspeed reached about 110 knots; however, it increased to about 120 knots about 2 minutes later. The airplanes airspeed was around 112 knots but was observed to be falling.
