With the latest Boeing 737 MAX 9 that the airline took delivery of, the carrier became the first in the world to have a mainline fleet of 1,000 jets. Delta will be taking delivery of quite a few wide body aircraft in 2025, but I dont think the overall added capacity will exceed that of United. Only time will tell!

Riyadh Air will fly Boeing 787s & Airbus A321neos So far Riyadh Air has placed two aircraft orders. In 2023, the airline placed an order for up to 72 Boeing 787-9s , including a firm order for 39 jets, and options for a further 33 jets. Riyadh Air is planning a pretty bold livery.

However, while vacating the runway via taxiway C and turning onto taxiway A, the aircrafts right main gear went into the grass. If avianca wanted a higher capacity aircraft than the 787-8s, it could’ve gone with the 787-9 or 787-10. Assuming this is all as I expect it is, I wonder what made avianca make the switch to Airbus jets for wide body aircraft. Or who knows, maybe it did.
