There were no known defects with the aircraft and the weight and balance were within normal operating limits. ATC asked if the aircraft required the full length of the runway and the crew confirmed that they did. The aircraft accelerated along the runway and reached V1, the take-off decision speed, of 155 knots normally.

V-speeds can be defined using any type of airspeed, such as knots or miles per hour, but the designation remains V unless a Mach number is used then it becomes M. VLO Maximum landing gear operating speed. VMO Maximum operating limit speed. In the Cessna 172, you can fly with 10 degrees of flaps below 110 knots.
