He said that after the event the windsock showed a right crosswind and he believed that there was some wind shear that resulted in the right wing raising during the event. The airplane sustained substantial damage to the vertical stabilizer and rudder. The airplane received substantial damage to the right wing.

The wreckage has now been removed and will be stored in a secure location out of the public eye as investigators from Canadas Transport Safety Board and the airline continue to examine what might have caused the plane to end up inverted and without one wing and its vertical stabilizer.
