Wingtip Vortices and Wake Turbulence

This is called lift. Wingtip vortices are a byproduct of lift. Once the wing stops producing lift, the vortices dissipate instantly. Wing spoilers drastically reduce the lift generated by the wing. Its important because the lift is always produced perpendicular to the relative wind. Why is this important?

Flying on New Year's Day With A New Airline from Frankfurt to Athens!

To get there, you need to follow the signboard leading you to a lift and from the lower level, you can walk through the underpass to get to the other building. Once on board, I noticed a cabin crew was serving champagne on a plastic cup and was pleasantly surprised I was given one, I suppose because of the occasion (New Year's Day).
