Most of the ailerons mass lies behind the hinge, making it tail-heavy. Tail-heavy ailerons droop downwards when they arent being pulled by the control system. potentially reverting the aileron back into a tail-heavy state. The elevator and rudder control are left to the pilot.

Thaws, rain, snow, and strong crosswinds can temporarily close the airport. Today would be his first landing on the ice as pilot in command. Since 2019, pilots in command have been presented with poker chips -- what the Alton Bay crew fittingly call "ice chips" -- commemorating landing at Alton Bay.

The pilot observed the wire wrapped around the helicopter. It had cut into the tail rotor gearbox, tearing it off the helicopter. But the job isnt finished until the paperwork is flushed: The pilot did not submit NTSB Pilot/Operator Aircraft Accident/Incident Report Form 6120.1. No mention of IPC results.
