Ailerons are actuated by pushrods that run through the wing struts, reducing aerodynamic drag and giving the responsive ailerons a solid feel. There are gap seals between the elevator and horizontal stabilizer, and the rudder and vertical stabilizer. Stalls were true nonevents. The preflight contains no surprises.

Pilots must use specific techniques, applying rudder and aileron inputs, to maintain directional control and keep the aircraft aligned. DC = arctan(TAS/Vc) Where TAS is the True Airspeed. Effects: It will try to push your aeroplane sideways off the runway centreline. – A negative value indicates tailwind.

Your aircraft will fly at a faster true airspeed at higher density altitudes. Use the rudder to keep the aircraft in line with the runway and apply aileron into the wind. You will need more aileron input as you slow down as the controls become less effective. The two techniques frequently go hand-in-hand.

Alongside a nearby highway, some recognizable bits of airplane, the vertical stabilizer and rudder, a horizontal stabilizer and elevator, fell separately to Earth. I did my first aileron roll in an RV-4. The breakup started with rudder flutter. The pilot died instantly.
